The X-Drive,- it arrived beautifully packaged, everything carefully sealed and neatly packed into the box. So you open the lid of the box to find a Full colour instruction booklet – No looking things up on the net, no printing out instructions on your PC wasting all your ink (incidentally there are 17 full-colour pages with 2 pictures on each page! – you just saved a lot of printing!)

FITTING
Here is what I did:
Follow the instructions they are great and very clear!

The only thing i did different from the instructions – when you come to fit the SATA exchange unit!
I marked with a felt tip the edge of where the unit would be! Fed the cables through the holes, ready for the unit.

Connect the cables with the exchange unit, BEFORE sticking unit to the cage (by peeling of protective sheet from back of it)

Then stick it in place!
Having fitted a Blaster previously – i found that doing it this way was much easier.

(little fat fingers made plugging the bottom connector awkward when it was already stuck to the cage)

Continue fitting as per booklet!

I took this oppertunity to dump the drive firmware from the xbox before refitting it!

(my original drive remains stock firmware).

Finish putting back together as per instructions!

Take your spare drive, and place into X-Drive Housing. Connect the SATA and power cables from drive to X-Drive PCB.
I took this oppertunity to flash iX fw to spare drive (using my dump from original drive)

Can be done once X-Drive is fully assembled!

Finished Assembly, connected up and time for a test!

As you can see the X-Drive is lit up and functional – plays backups! – power off, press button, power on – I have a Stock xbox for those SYSTEM UPDATES!

CONCLUSION

A very well made, good looking, piece of hardware. Looks great with the Xbox360.
More importantly – I have a drive that plays backups and can simply (nothing more than a power cycle and a single button press) have a stock Xbox360 for those dreaded system updates! C4eva’s advice of carrying out system updates with stock firmware – has just become incredibly simple!
Moreover – If you want to create a rip of your original, simply disconnect X-Drive, that it to your PC, use your CK3, flash with 0800 firmware – RIP! Then flash back to iX firmware and put it back on your Xbox360.
No more opening of your Xbox to get your drive out for ripping!
This unit once fully assembled has combined the concept of the Blaster and taken it one step further! Leave your Xbox360 firmware as stock, do everything else with your X-Drive. What a great product!

Worth every penny for the ease and convenience of use.
Another fantastic product from Team-Xecuter.
