LT SWITCH - REVIEW
March 15th, 2010
What do you get for your money?
Not a lot! – But then again, they are not expensive!
The LT Switch is extremely simple in design and purpose! It is there to carry out the MRA Hack without the requirement to have wires with switches and resistors dangling.
I initially got one to fit to a drive I originally carried out the MRA hack on! It was more as a neat repair for me as I already had dumped the firmware from my drive! However I was so impressed with the simplicity of concept and ease with which I fitted it – I obtained more of them!
The big plus factor for me was the underside of the LT switch, Let me explain...

Carrying out the MRA Hack the original method was to clean off the traces using a fibreglass brush, This exposes more traces than just the tracks you want to work with!
Now the bonus with the LT Switch is, as I said, is the underside of them,

As you can see there is no bare contacts – unlike some other similar products, fitment of the LT switch doesn’t cause any shorts between cleaned off traces!
So if you have a fibreglass pen you can still it to clean off the traces on the PCB.
So onto the product – For the purpose of this review I took a fresh PCB and went about installing the LT Switch
Official fitting instructions can be found on T-X Website

The main thing about this item is SIMPLICITY!
It’s Simple and it Simply WORKS!
A great little item! For that amount of money, it’s an Easy and Neat way to perform the MRA Hack.
